Taking the hump …

A good racing camel can reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour.

And watching one close-up in full flight is an unnerving experience.

Poetry in motion they are not.

Sitting atop one of nature’s more ungainly creatures as it breaks the speed limit must be rather like a ride on Oblivion at Alton Towers.

Best viewed from afar.

But as ungainly as these ill-tempered beasts are, the fastest animals routinely fetch $1 million and more.

Compare and contrast these ships of the desert with a thoroughbred racehorse.

Reaching top speeds of 44mph, they’re as smooth as silk, barely skimming the turf.

And they don’t spit, either.

There’s a great lesson to be taken here …

Think of Websites.

Some are ugly but functional, even if half the prospective buyers don’t stay on board for the whole journey.

Whereas others help you glide effortlessly to the shopping cart without fuss.

And that means that more of your customers stay on board until they reach the finishing line.

So, look at your website now. Is it more camel or thoroughbred?

If you think you might have a horse designed by a committee, why not give us a call

It won’t cost $1 million, and I promise we don’t bite either!

If you want a sounding board or just want to bend my ear, I’m on hand for a chat about anything to do with Print or Web Design.

Stay safe.
