What if …?

Have you ever asked yourself the question, “What if …?”

Who hasn’t, would probably be the answer.

But instead of just rolling the question around in our minds until it drives us nuts (one of my most common failings, by the way), some surprising things happen when we actually do something about it.

In fact, some time ago I began to think that one of our key web pages might not be cutting the mustard.

OK, the results weren’t too bad and the data thrown up by Google Analytics said it was doing okay as well.

But the feeling that it could do better started to bug me. Big time.

This is why we embarked on some A/B split testing which compares the results of one approach against another to see what strategy might deliver the best results.

And lo and behold the new copy and its emphasis on answering customers’ questions proved a winner.

But we wouldn’t have known that unless we’d poked around and started to ask some very, very basic questions about what WOULD make things better.

It’s too easy, sometimes, to forever pursue the hunt for the Holy Grail. That sure-fire winning strategy that’s going to take us straight past “Go” and collect a million pounds.

Except that almost never happens.

But things do change for the better when we start lifting the lid on our everyday activities and asking some very direct questions.

If you want a sounding board or just want to bend my ear, I’m on hand for a chat about anything to do with Print or Web Design.

Stay safe.
