What’s a therapist got to do with it?

“Sex Therapists slug it out in £2m court battle”, screamed the headlines in last week’s papers.

It’s a sensationalist headline and heaven knows what they were saying behind the doors of London’s High Court.

If it was anything like the goings-on in the Gwyneth Paltrow (of Goop fame) trial, I’m sure it would be well worth a viewing.

But whilst the story might raise a smutty titter the cause of the battle royal is deadly serious.

And it centres around the accusation that one of the therapists had hijacked the other’s online profile.

Although the court report doesn’t elaborate, I understand it concerns their respective Google Business Profiles.

The two businesses probably got in a tangle when both operated out of the same premises so used the same address in their profile – although each will have used a unique phone number which should have prevented the mix-up.

But accidents happen and at £2m it’s not an insignificant one, either.

But back to Google.

Whether large or small, every business should have a Google Business Profile

When did you last check yours?

And are ALL your details up to date?

Are you regularly (weekly, ideally) adding fresh content and reviews?

They are completely free and have a significant effect on how Google rates your business so my top tip for the week is to check yours out – pronto.

It might not cost you £2,000,000 to sort out but it might bring an unexpected windfall.

If you’d like to jump on a call to talk about this or anything else to do with websites and SEO why not drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you.
