The Skye’s the Limit

Dinner and Bed & Breakfast for two at The Three Chimneys on the Isle of Skye will likely cost the thick end of £500 per night.

And it is just one of three world-renowned restaurants on an island of scarcely more than 13,000 residents.

Granted, it is situated in one of the most breathtakingly beautiful parts of the Scottish islands.

Known for its rugged landscapes, medieval castles, picturesque fishing villages, its history and outstanding scenery Skye is undoubtedly a dream destination.

But you’ve still got your work cut out to get people to part with the thick end of a Monkey to enjoy it.

So, what’s their secret?

Being at the very top of their game definitely helps but there’s more to it than that.

Dig a little more deeply and a beautiful story unfolds. And it’s their menu which does much of the heavy lifting.

Foodie establishments have long known the power of singing the praises of locally raised products, but The Three Chimneys goes further than that.

Not only will they tell you where their food comes from, but they’ll also tell you which fisherman landed their hand-dived scallops. And which farmer raised their exquisitely cooked shoulder of lamb.

Ok, neither you nor I may produce food for a living.

But all of us have a story to tell about our product or service – and a story told with passion moves hearts and minds.

Something to think about next time you’re giving your marketing collateral a bit of a refresh.

Until next time.
